St Bridget (Birgitta) of Sweden

It is written in the prophets,
'And they shall all be taught by God.' - John 6:45

"Oh Jesus! Sweetness of hearts, delight of the spirit, by the bitterness of the vinegar and gall which Thou didst taste on the Cross of Love for us, grant us the grace to receive worthily Thy Precious Body and Blood during our life and at the hour of our death, that they may serve as a remedy and consolation for our souls.  Amen.”

FEAST DAY – July 23

The world would have peace if only men of politics
would follow the Gospels. St. Bridget of Sweden

In December 1980, the Holy Father declared the brothers Cyril and Methodius co-patrons of Europe, with St Benedict. In Oct 1999 the Pope designated three patronesses, Sts Bridget of Sweden, Catherine of Siena, and Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. "Three great saints, three women who at different times—two in the very heart of the Middle Ages and one in our own century—were outstanding for their fruitful love of Christ's Church and their witness to His Cross."
St Bridget of Sweden, pray for us!
