15 July 2013                                                              ISSUE No: 07/13 JULY 2013 MONTHLY REFLECTION "BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS, YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WILL BE SAVED (Acts 16:31) Family relationships often  faces many many strains due to the stress and hectic lifestyles of all the members in a family.   Rev. Fr. Augustine Vallooran V.C.'s July Monthly Reflection"BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS, YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WILL BE SAVED (Acts 16:31), [繁體中文版 / 简体中文版, DEUTSCHE],, reminds us with great clarity that the entire family has to be Christ-centred so that that all relationships are aninted by God - for without God, family life seems burdensome and stressful.   “The scourge of this generation is the disintegration of families. Relationships are limited to the superficial. Commitment to the other is looked at as foolishness and negation of the individual freedom. People have become very conscious of and adamant to determine their individual destinies. To sacrifice one's opinion is understood as slavery to the stand of the other.” “The one credible and proved solution for this predicament is the Promise of the Word of God - "Believe in the Lord Jesus, you and your family will be saved." (Acts 16:31) Here the Scripture charts out the way explaining that in order for the family to be saved, its members should look beyond themselves to make a space for God's Presence in their midst. "To believe" means to abandon oneself in the Hands of God.” “When God intervenes, the family is elevated to a Divine status and its blessings are superior to a family that has not a space for God.” Let us consecrate our familes to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary!
