The first reading of the New Year gives us the formula of blessing in the first test used by the high priest Aaron, "The Lord make his face shine upon you, it looks to you ... that give you peace. "
It is primarily through its face that a person reveals what it is. That is why all the great prophets and mystics have desired to see God's face. Moses stated that God spoke to him face to face as a friend. "The Lord make his face shine upon you. "The hope is that one or the one who pronounced this blessing is surrounded by the light streaming from the face of God.
The second reading from the letter of Paul to the Galatians, says that "when the time had fully come, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman. "The light of God's face turned a little child. Its glory has appeared on the traits of Jesus. The human face, to be flouted, veiled, disfigured in the Passion, is the image of the divine substance, as was revealed to the three privileged disciples on the day of the Transfiguration. Ourselves, transformed by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, are transformed by the light and know that one day we shall see face to face.
The Gospel of Luke shows us the beauty of his humanity the divine light that made the little face of a toddler. The first two chapters of his gospel of children we offer a dense text, a wealth of poetry, which he announced all the major themes of his Gospel. After the meeting of the two alliances in the persons of John the Baptist and Jesus still in the womb of their mothers, and two songs of blessing of Zechariah and Mary, we have the meeting of heaven and earth, represented by angels and shepherds. On their hills, surrounded by their flocks, the shepherds are surrounded by a great light, that of the child that is born and their joy is announced, the only Savior given to them. And the sign is that a child is born, which was laid in a manger, and thus offered to us symbolically by his mother in spiritual food, announcing the Eucharist.
While powerful, like Herod or doctors of the Law in Jerusalem, refuse to see the light available to them, people with no contention that the search for wisdom, like the Magi, believe in the stars and people down to earth like the shepherds, believe in the light that surrounds them and the announcement made to them with great joy. They are all filled with joy by what they heard and what they saw.
Amidst all this excitement, stands Mary, who has left entire inside of the light entering the one she wore during nine months. By faith, she became Mother of God. All she hears her child, she meditates in his heart, in faith. Mary Mother of God because the mother of Jesus as manifested in the fullness of the glory of God. She is our mother in that God is also embodied in all of us, when we let ourselves be penetrated by divine light that shone on the face of her Son. This child, whose mother was symbolically laid in a manger once said of his body, born of Mary: "Take and eat. "By faith Mary became the Mother of God. By faith we receive Christ in the Eucharist and are changed into his image.
Aaron's blessing on the people demanded peace "May the Lord turn his face toward you, that give you peace. "Let us pray the Mother of God and our mother to get her children to know more discover, build and respect the gift of peace in this new year. - Sr.Francine

Feast of the Holy Family
God, come to our assistance; Jesus, Mary, Joseph please make haste to help us!
Jesus! Mary! Joseph!
FERVENT invocation of these blessed names gains for us access to the persons, yes, to the very hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
The aspiration JESUS, MARY, JOSEPH! is enriched with an indulgence of seven years for each recital (Raccolta, 274), applicable to the poor souls in purgatory. This, obviously, is a pearl among partial indulgences. But why should so high an atoning value be attached to so short a formula?
1. To invite us to pray it unceasingly.
2. Because of the incomprehensible grandeur of the holy Names of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. The name of a person is a personification of its bearer. What a glorious invocation, then, is the prayer: Jesus, Mary, Joseph! What a vast field for meditation here lies open to angels and men! Each one of these names, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, unfolds to us a world of wonders, an abyss of greatness and beauty, of grace and power.
At the sound of these names, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, which to us are so sweet and love-
The aspiration Jesus, Mary, Joseph! is a golden arrow, a fiery dart, which springs from our hearts and at the same moment blissfully wounds the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph and lays them lovingly open to us and to our dear departed. Into this formula, so divine in its content, one breathes the tenderest, strongest and purest love.
How often should we pray this aspiration? Without counting. . . or, if we prefer, on our rosary; on each bead these three names, Jesus, Mary, Joseph and nothing more (that is no Creed, no Our Father, Hail Mary or Glory be to the Father). It is not a rosary, but simply a chaplet of diamonds, beautiful gems from the Orient of Divine love. It is greatly to be desired that this practice be spread over the world, flowing as a river of love in a never-
The aspiration Jesus, Mary, Joseph! is an inexhaustible treasure of indulgences especially for the poor souls. With this prayer one enkindles a fire on earth which extinguishes the flames of Purgatory. If every Christian soul but knew, if the world but knew, what consolation for the poor souls is contained in the names, Jesus, Mary, Joseph! Day and night, everywhere and without ceasing may this blessed prayer be the refrain of fervent petitions. Gather, O Christian souls, gather blessings through these heavenly names, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, for those who suffer unspeakable pains in the flames of Purgatory; beg in these sweet names, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, without ceasing.
The aspiration Jesus, Mary, Joseph! is a golden book, an inexhaustible fountain. It awakens a piety which is sweet and strong, wide, deep and full of meaning. And yet, how short and clear, how simple and wonderful is its form! It is the golden key to the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. It is a precious gem of piety. Already here on earth, but especially in heaven, this prayer will effect an intimate union of the soul, a jubilation, a true fire of love.
The aspiration Jesus, Mary, Joseph! is an inexhaustible subject for meditation. The thoughtful repetition of these names, Jesus, Mary and Joseph, so full of love and light, causes us to meditate, and from the beginning this meditation appeals to us, charms us, affects us, leads us to God and submerges us into Him. We find in these names, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, a power that urges, uplifts, stimulates, impels and quickens. Meditation on these holy names, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, fills the heart and mind, excites sublime thoughts and leads one to self-
May these blessed names, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, be often on our lips during life, and may we with our dying breath sigh: Jesus, Mary, Joseph!

The Holy Family Prayer
JESUS, Son of God and Son of Mary, bless our family. Graciously inspire in us the unity, peace, and mutual love that you found in your own family in the little town of Nazareth.
MARY, Mother of Jesus and our Mother, nourish our family with your faith and your love. Keep us close to your Son, Jesus, in all our sorrows and joys.
JOSEPH, Foster-father to Jesus, guardian and spouse of Mary, keep our family safe from harm. Help us in all times of discouragement or anxiety.
HOLY FAMILY OF NAZARETH, make our family one with you. Help us to be instruments of peace. Grant that love, strengthened by grace, may prove mightier than all the weaknesses and trials through which our families sometimes pass. May we always have God at the center of our hearts and homes until we are all one family, happy and at peace in our true home with you. Amen.

A tiny child is born, who is a great king. Wise men are led to him from afar. They come to adore one who lies in a manger and yet reigns in heaven and on earth. When they tell of one who is born a king, Herod is disturbed. To save his kingdom he resolves to kill him, though if he would have faith in the child, he himself would reign in peace in this life and for ever in the life to come.
Why are you afraid, Herod, when you hear of the birth of a king? He does not come to drive you out, but to conquer the devil. But because you do not understand this you are disturbed and in a rage. To destroy one child whom you seek, you show your cruelty in the death of so many children.

The beginning of the Gospel of St. John, we just read, is, so to speak, a translation of theological narrative of the Nativity as found in Luke. Like Luke said they were very few, those who recognized in the child of the manger, the son of God (there were the shepherds), since the birth of this child went completely unnoticed to the people of Bethlehem, now that John translates it in theological terms. He says this amazing thing: "He came unto His own and His own did not receive" However, he adds, there are some who have been recognized, and these children have become of God.
It reflects a spiritual experience. Experience began with the shepherds. To them the angel addresses to tell them: "Go, you'll find in Bethlehem a child lying in a manger." The Gospel tells us absolutely not what was done by the shepherds to the child and his mother. The Gospel tells us that they have told Mary and Joseph they had seen and heard angels ... and they came to see. But what is known about these mufflers is that they will leave to shout across the good news of a God at hand, a God made manifest, a God who loves them.
Apparently nothing has changed in their lives. Simply, there were deep in their heart as a certainty they did not have before: the certainty that now, God intervened in their lives and that this revolution, imperceptible at first, was to change something. And already in them. In the depth of their being, they received that assurance, and they heard a call.
A certainty. That expressed by the Apostle John in his Gospel: "To all who received him, he has the opportunity to become children of God." To become divine, to emerge finally from the animal. Indeed, you know, mankind has struggled to emerge from the jungle and fight for life. We get the certainty that it's beautiful, it's great to be a man ... and much more a man. For we are called to become divine. Yes, the poor shepherds of Bethlehem did not express this as I now express, but they have had this awareness: that man goes far beyond the man, because God, not only wanted to establish his dwelling among men, but has become one of us. In the child of the manger, for some, that day, there was the birth of a certainty: God became man so that man might become God. This certainty will give them another insurance company in existence. They leave to say all the "goodness gracious" manifested in the person of the God-made-man.
So sure, but also appeal. Call can not be heard in silence. Call them, the shepherds, were predisposed to hear, because a shepherd, it passes his days and nights with animals, it does not so much the opportunity to speak, so this is a man of solitude and silence. The shepherds, hear the inner voice. If we want if we are able to stop, to sit down, to cut off the TV and radio, to find some solitude. The inner voice calls us constantly, first look at what we are because we have to judge, we assess, criticize us to change many things in us. The beginning of the Gospel of St. John, we just read, is, so to speak, a translation of theological narrative of the Nativity as found in Luke. Like Luke said they were very few, those who recognized in the child of the manger, the son of God (there were the shepherds), since the birth of this child went completely unnoticed to the people of Bethlehem, now that John translates it in theological terms. He says this amazing thing: "He came unto His own and His own did not receive" However, he adds, there are some who have been recognized, and these children have become of God.
It reflects a spiritual experience. Experience began with the shepherds. To them the angel addresses to tell them: "Go, you'll find in Bethlehem a child lying in a manger." The Gospel tells us absolutely not what was done by the shepherds to the child and his mother. The Gospel tells us that they have told Mary and Joseph they had seen and heard angels ... and they came to see. But what is known about these mufflers is that they will leave to shout across the good news of a God at hand, a God made manifest, a God who loves them.
Apparently nothing has changed in their lives. Simply, there were deep in their heart as a certainty they did not have before: the certainty that now, God intervened in their lives and that this revolution, imperceptible at first, was to change something. And already in them. In the depth of their being, they received that assurance, and they heard a call.
A certainty. That expressed by the Apostle John in his Gospel: "To all who received him, he has the opportunity to become children of God." To become divine, to emerge finally from the animal. Indeed, you know, mankind has struggled to emerge from the jungle and fight for life. We get the certainty that it's beautiful, it's great to be a man ... and much more a man. For we are called to become divine. Yes, the poor shepherds of Bethlehem did not express this as I now express, but they have had this awareness: that man goes far beyond the man, because God, not only wanted to establish his dwelling among men, but has become one of us. In the child of the manger, for some, that day, there was the birth of a certainty: God became man so that man might become God. This certainty will give them another insurance company in existence. They leave to say all the "goodness gracious" manifested in the person of the God-made-man.
So sure, but also appeal. Call can not be heard in silence. Call them, the shepherds, were predisposed to hear, because a shepherd, it passes his days and nights with animals, it does not so much the opportunity to speak, so this is a man of solitude and silence. Saint Peter Canisius from his writings describing his profound spiritual experience
It was as if you opened to me the heart in your most sacred body. I seemed to see it directly before my eyes. You told me to drink from this fountain, inviting me, that is, to draw the waters of my salvation from your wellsprings, my Savior. I was most eager that streams of faith, hope, and love should flow into me from that source. I was thirsting for poverty, chastity, obedience. I asked to be made wholly clean by you, to be clothed by you, to be made resplendent by you.
So, after daring to approach your most loving heart, and to plunge my thirst into it, I received a promise from you of a garment made of three parts: these were to cover my soul in its nakedness, and to belong especially to my religious profession. They were peace, love, and perseverance. Protected by this garment of salvation, I was confident that I would lack nothing but all would succeed and give you glory.

Luke has finely painted picture of a sublime annunciation. It says in the prologue of his Gospel, taking good information, perhaps in the family of Jesus, perhaps even to Mary that we described two occasions "kept all these things in her heart" (2, 19.51).
The account he gives us is entirely composed of reminiscences from the Bible, like the sublime words of the annunciation to Sarah and Abraham: "Is there anything too wonderful for the Lord? "(Genesis 18, 14) or the cry of joy in the design of Anne of Samuel:" My heart exults in the Lord "(1 Samuel 2, 1). How the evangelist could he put into words the unique experience of God's Word made flesh and hosted by Mary, without draining the vocabulary and images of the First Testament?
Luke juxtaposes two birth announcements: that of John the Baptist in Jerusalem and that of Jesus of Nazareth, the first in the prestigious Temple, the second in a village lost, one to a priest who does not, the other a girl who opens her whole being to God and life ...
The phrase that the girl of Nazareth pronounced is one of the best a human being can speak to God. Let me highlight a simple point of grammar of the Greek text of the Gospel to grasp the depth of the response of the Virgin. When Matthew tells us the Lord's Prayer, he says, for example: "Thy kingdom come! "It uses an imperative which expresses a clear desire. Marie here uses the same Greek verb form but γινομαι optative, expressing a wish much finer. With exquisite delicacy, calls upon the Lord, if he wishes, if they so desire, to enter the heart of his life and let it rise in the mystery he has to propose its messenger.
If you wish, then, that your project take birth in me and he lives he lives entirely in the heart of my being. As the little Jewish slave of the wife of Naaman, the Syrian general who said simply, "Ah! If only my master spoke to the prophet in Samaria! He would deliver him from his leprosy ... Each can be covered by the cloud of the Shekinah, the Divine Presence in the sanctuary of his heart.

Luke has finely painted picture of a sublime annunciation. It says in the prologue of his Gospel, taking good information, perhaps in the family of Jesus, perhaps even to Mary that we described two occasions "kept all these things in her heart" (2, 19.51).
The account he gives us is entirely composed of reminiscences from the Bible, like the sublime words of the annunciation to Sarah and Abraham: "Is there anything too wonderful for the Lord? "(Genesis 18, 14) or the cry of joy in the design of Anne of Samuel:" My heart exults in the Lord "(1 Samuel 2, 1). How the evangelist could he put into words the unique experience of God's Word made flesh and hosted by Mary, without draining the vocabulary and images of the First Testament?
Luke juxtaposes two birth announcements: that of John the Baptist in Jerusalem and that of Jesus of Nazareth, the first in the prestigious Temple, the second in a village lost, one to a priest who does not, the other a girl who opens her whole being to God and life ...
The phrase that the girl of Nazareth pronounced is one of the best a human being can speak to God. Let me highlight a simple point of grammar of the Greek text of the Gospel to grasp the depth of the response of the Virgin. When Matthew tells us the Lord's Prayer, he says, for example: "Thy kingdom come! "It uses an imperative which expresses a clear desire. Marie here uses the same Greek verb form but γινομαι optative, expressing a wish much finer. With exquisite delicacy, calls upon the Lord, if he wishes, if they so desire, to enter the heart of his life and let it rise in the mystery he has to propose its messenger.
